The Noah Plan® curriculum was developed and tested at StoneBridge School in Chesapeake, Virginia over the past seventeen years. StoneBridge School is a F.A.C.E demonstration school and the site of Session I of the International Apprenticeship Program. It is for these reasons that statistics were collected from StoneBridge High School’s 1996-1997 senior class.

“StoneBridge High School is an American Christian high school founded on Biblical principles of scholarship, character, and personal self-government. The high school, which is A.C.S.I. accredited, has a particular nature and mission that sets it apart from other Christian high schools in America.

“The rich curriculum and methodology of the full high school program are based upon the Principle Approach® of American Christian Education and the Notebook Method, which provide students with the tools and habits of lifelong Christian scholarship and learning. Students are trained to seek God’s Word and research primary sources. They are taught the principles of logic in thinking and reasoning and required to relate Biblical principles to their assignments, as well as to their own lives. Extensive essay writing, research papers, science projects, portfolio projects, and the research, writing and oral defense of the High School Thesis enable these graduates to reason from cause to effect and competently communicate ideas and principles. Juniors are required to complete an apprenticeship in missions or the marketplace, while graduating seniors travel and teach abroad.

“The classic curriculum is historic and Biblical in nature. Advanced Placement (AP) courses are offered in U.S. history, government, calculus, and physics. Combined with a strong foundation in America’s Christian history and government, literary classics, the sciences, math, classical and modern languages, and the interdisciplinary study of the fine and performing arts, the students successfully compete with their peers around the nation for college entrance and scholarship awards. The learning success of each student is supported by small classes, a tutorial emphasis, and by the mentoring process that encourages close student-faculty interaction.
